Busan Fireworks Festival: how to watch

Saturday 7 November 2026, over Gwangan Bridge. One of Asia's biggest fireworks shows — and about a million people come. Where to watch, how to get there and, just as important, how to get home.

Date and tickets

Sat 7 Nov — free from public areas

Pre-events are planned from about 2 pm (the line-up, e.g. an air force aerobatic show, is on the official site); the main fireworks are 7–8 pm. Watching from the beach, Igidae or Dongbaekseom costs nothing — you only pay for reserved seats.

Reserved seats on the sand

Chairs (some with tables) right in front of the bridge, sold online until 6 Nov, 5 pm — the NOL World app/site has an English version. Good seats go early; there are no seat sales on the day.

Where to watch

Gwangalli Beach — front row, biggest crowd

The classic view, straight at the bridge. People lay out mats from the morning; arrive by early afternoon for a spot on the sand.

광안리해수욕장

Igidae and Dongbaekseom — official sites, a bit calmer

Both face the bridge from the sides: Igidae from the south (bus from Kyungsung Univ.·Pukyong Nat'l Univ. Station), Dongbaekseom from Haeundae (Dongbaek Station, exit 1). Easier to get home from than the beach.

Hwangnyeongsan — the whole city from above

Far from the bridge but a famous panorama with fewer people. The mountain road jams in the evening, so go up early by taxi. It's dark and cold at the top.

Cafés, restaurants and hotels with a view

Places facing the beach take bookings for the night weeks ahead, usually as a set menu or minimum spend. Book through the place itself or a booking app — see our booking guide.

Getting there and back

Metro only — no car, no taxi in

Roads around the beach close and there's no parking. Take Metro Line 2 to Gwangan (exit 3) for the beach or Dongbaek (exit 1) for Dongbaekseom. Stations are packed and some exits may be controlled — allow extra time.

Going home: walk one or two stations

Everyone leaves at once and Gwangan Station overflows. Walk 20–30 minutes to Suyeong, Geumnyeonsan or Namcheon Station, or wait an hour in a café. Taxis and ride apps are close to impossible right after the show.

Bring and know

Crowd safety

If the crowd gets so dense you can't move freely, don't push forward — move out sideways, away from narrow alleys and stairs. Follow police and staff directions, keep children close, and if you feel crushed, call out loudly so people make room. Agree on a meeting point before the show.

It gets cold by the sea

November evenings on the beach are windy and chilly, and you'll sit for hours. Bring a warm layer, a mat or blanket, water and snacks — nearby shops sell out.

Your phone may barely work

With a million people in one place, mobile data slows to a crawl. Save tickets and maps offline, charge a power bank, and agree on a meeting point with your group before you split up.

Toilets, lost people, emergencies

Temporary toilets have long lines — go before you settle in. Help booths and police are along the beach; in an emergency call 112 (police) or 119 (fire/ambulance).
